Introduction To "NJROTC"
Welcome Cadets! New members are instructed to embrace the Navy's core values of honor, courage, and commitment. This is why all cadets recite the cadet creed everyday to bring credit to your family, country, school, and the corps of cadets. Every week, we have a day for PT and Drill. PT stands for physical training and we perform a variety of exercises together to perfect our fitness. On Drill days, we perform multiple routines that the military uses in the form of three squads instructed by a platoon leader. This can either be in the form of armed or unarmed drill where in armed drill we practice with actual weapons such as rifles while unarmed mostly revolves around marching and formations. Everyday during drill, you must wear your uniform. Never be discouraged from wearing your uniforms as it shows that you are proudly showing the dignity of yourself and our entire program.

Our PT and Drill days are put to good use as we offer after school teams which include our drill team, trick team, and PT team. The drill and PT team compete with more complex procedures while our trick team performs multiple freestyle-esque drills to promote our program. Our Operations Officers also schedule the trips we go on which include going to exhibits, watching movies, visiting other schools, and participating in parades. When we don't have our Drill or PT days, we must learn many topics to help us to get to understand the program. These include American history, government, understanding naval terms, what it means to be a good leader, and a healthy lifestyle.
